If you notice any of the following symptoms during or even days after a long flight, you should consult your doctor immediately:
  • Sudden chest pain and breathlessness

  • Coughing not due to a cold, often with expectorated blood

  • A sensation of constriction or oppression which may develop into panic

  • Bursts of sweating

  • Sudden pallor

  • Racing pulse (tachycardia)

  • Blue lips and finger nails (cyanosis), indicating lack of oxygen

  • Fainting
